Chemical Injection Quill

EMT’s quill chemical injection assembly delivers precise corrosion inhibitor dosing directly into high-pressure pipelines. Built from 316L SS, Duplex F51, or Inconel 625, each unit handles up to 2500LB and operates from -20°C to 200°C. The integrated check valve prevents backflow. Custom nozzle types and connection sizes are available. Ideal for oil & gas, water treatment, and chemical processing.

Description

What Is a Chemical Injection Quill?

A quill chemical injection assembly is the terminal device of a chemical dosing system. It introduces corrosion inhibitors, scale inhibitors, oxygen scavengers, or biocides directly into the process pipeline. EMT’s design allows injection under full operating pressure without shutting down the system.
The quill positions the chemical discharge at the pipe center, where mixing is most effective. This ensures uniform distribution and prevents chemical waste.
How Does the EMT Quill Work?
The assembly installs on a tee or nozzle at the injection point. Chemical flows from the dosing pump through the injection tube and exits via the nozzle. The built-in check valve blocks process fluid backflow into the chemical line.
EMT offers three nozzle types:
●Open — simple discharge, low-viscosity chemicals
●Quill — distributes chemical along the pipe centerline
●Cap & Core — radial discharge for aggressive mixing

Application Scenarios

Oil & Gas Pipelines — Inject corrosion inhibitors at pump stations and metering runs to extend pipeline life.
Water Treatment — Dose biocides and scale inhibitors into cooling water systems and RO pretreatment.
Chemical Processing — Add process chemicals into reactors or transfer lines under pressure.
Offshore Platforms — NACE-compliant materials handle sour service and seawater exposure.

Who Is EMT and Why Trust Us?

Shenyang EMT Piping Technology Co., Ltd. manufactures pipeline pigging equipment. We hold the ASME U Stamp certification for pressure vessel manufacturing. Our factory operates CNC machining centers, automatic welding stations, and a hydrostatic test bay. Every product undergoes pressure testing before delivery. We provide the test certificate with each shipment.

We serve EPC contractors, pipeline operators, and maintenance teams worldwide. Our pig signallers operate in more than 30 countries. We understand project schedules and expedited delivery requirements. We provide technical support in English, Spanish, Russian, and Chinese. Our response time is within 4 hours during working days.

EMT offers more than individual pig signallers. Our product range covers quick-opening closures (QOC), corrosion monitoring systems, chemical injection quills, and pipeline cleaning pigs. We provide turnkey pigging solutions — from system design to site commissioning. We can act as a single-source supplier for your entire pigging system.

FAQ

Q: Can the quill be installed while the pipeline is under pressure?
A: Yes. The EMT injection system is designed for installation and chemical injection under full operating pressure, provided a properly rated isolation valve is used.
Q: What nozzle type should I choose for corrosion inhibitor injection?
A: For most oil & gas applications, the quill nozzle is recommended. It positions chemical discharge at the pipe centerline for optimal mixing. Open nozzles suit low-viscosity chemicals in small lines.
Q: Is the quill suitable for sour service (H₂S environment)?
A: Yes, when specified with NACE MR0175-compliant materials such as Inconel 625 or DSS F51.                                                                               Please state sour service requirements at the time of inquiry.
Q: Can EMT supply a complete injection skid, not just the quill?
A: Yes. EMT can supply the quill, isolation valve, check valve, and tubing as a complete injection assembly.
