EMT Celebrates 20 Years of Engineering Excellence in Oil & Gas Pipeline Solutions

Two decades of global pipeline solutions — from a 1993 engineering institute to a trusted international partner across six continents

EMT proudly marks a defining milestone: two decades of international pipeline business. Our engineering roots trace to the Shenyang Energy Technology Development Institute (SISTD), founded in Shenyang, China, in 1993, which grew into an integrated enterprise spanning research, development, manufacturing, sales, and service. To carry that heritage to the world, Shenyang EMT Pipeline Technology Co., Ltd. was established to lead our overseas business — and twenty years on, EMT equipment now serves clients across more than 50 countries and regions on six continents, including the United States, Malaysia, and Kuwait. As we celebrate this anniversary, we honor not only the equipment we build, but the people, partners, and principles behind every shipment.

A Company Built on Integration

EMT is the international pipeline-technology arm of SISTD, a manufacturer-trader integrated enterprise headquartered in Shenyang, China, and founded in 1993. From that base, Shenyang EMT Pipeline Technology Co., Ltd. was created to take SISTD’s engineering to global markets, combining in-house R&D, fabrication, and inspection with the reach of an international trading partner. We serve clients from front-end design through commissioning and after-sales support. Holding the ASME U Stamp certification, EMT fabricates pressure vessels, closures, and welded assemblies to internationally recognized code compliance — a foundation of the trust our clients place in us.

Our integrated model is our core strength. By controlling engineering, sourcing, machining, welding, and inspection under one roof, we shorten lead times, protect quality at every step, and take single-source accountability for the final product. Clients do not negotiate with a middle layer; they work directly with the people who design and build their equipment.

Technical Strength & Engineering Excellence

Engineering is the engine of EMT. Our technical team translates operating conditions — pressure, temperature, medium, and corrosivity — into equipment that performs for decades. We design to ASME, API, and NACE requirements, and select materials for the harshest service, including sour (H2S) environments per NACE MR0175 / ISO 09001

  • Qualified welding procedures (WPS/PQR) with certified welders and full non-destructive examination (RT, UT, MT, PT)
  • In-house pressure testing — hydrostatic and pneumatic — to client and code specifications
  • Third-party inspection readiness (SGS, BV, TÜV, DNV) with complete documentation packages (ITP, MDR)
  • Custom engineering for non-standard sizes, pressure ratings, and interface requirements

Field-proven across oil, power, chemical, and machinery sectors, our designs draw on more than three decades of pipeline manufacturing heritage.

Business Areas & Product Portfolio

EMT serves the full pipeline lifecycle — from construction and commissioning to operation, monitoring, and integrity maintenance. Our product portfolio covers:

  • Quick Opening Closures (QOC): lock-ring / Bandlock type closures for pig launchers, receivers, separators, and filters — engineered for fast, safe access under pressure
  • Corrosion Monitoring Equipment: corrosion coupons, electrical resistance (ER) probes, and coupon holders that give operators early warning of asset loss
  • Chemical Injection Quills: the SN series precision injectors for dosing corrosion, scale, and biocide inhibitors into live, pressurized lines
  • Pipeline Pigging & Cleaning Equipment: the LCQZ series electronic pigs and complete instrumentation, plus pigs, pig signalers / passage indicators, and launcher-receiver accessories for cleaning, gauging, and batching
  • Ancillary Integrity Solutions: insulating joints, double-block-and-bleed (DBB) valves, pressure-rated transmitters, and hydrotest equipment supporting safe, compliant operations

These products move fluid, protect assets, and keep facilities online — in upstream, midstream, downstream, petrochemical, water, and power applications. Proven through long-term service in China’s Daqing and Liaohe oilfields, they are now trusted by operators across six continents.

Two Decades of Development Achievements

Twenty years of disciplined execution in international markets have shaped EMT from a domestic institute’s overseas desk into a globally recognized supplier of pipeline integrity equipment. Milestones of this journey include:

  • A transition from single-product fabrication to a full-scope pipeline integrity portfolio
  • Export growth to more than 50 countries and regions across six continents, with an established presence in the United States, Malaysia, Kuwait, and beyond
  • Evolution from the 1993-founded SISTD into an integrated R&D-manufacturing-trading-service enterprise
  • Repeated selection by EPCs and overseas oil companies as a qualified, single-source equipment partner
  • A mature quality and project-management system capable of handling complex, code-driven international orders

Each project has sharpened our process. Each delivery has deepened client trust. The result is a company that grows not by volume alone, but by the reliability of every unit we ship.

Delivering Customer Value

EMT’s value begins where the specification starts. Clients choose us because we:

  • Reduce risk through code-compliant design and verified manufacturing
  • Shorten schedules via integrated engineering-to-delivery control
  • Lower lifecycle cost with durable materials and field-proven designs
  • Simplify procurement with single-point accountability and consolidated documentation
  • Support operations with responsive technical service and spare-parts continuity

We measure success by uptime protected and failures avoided — not merely by units shipped.

Looking Back, Moving Forward

Two decades of international business is both a milestone and a turning point. We are grateful to the clients who trusted us early, the partners who grew with us, and the team whose craft built our name. Their confidence is the truest measure of what EMT hasbecome.

Looking ahead, we will deepen our engineering edge — expanding R&D for smarter, more sustainable pipeline integrity solutions, broadening our global service footprint, and embracing digitalization in design, inspection, and lifecycle support. As the energy industry evolves toward lower-carbon and higher-efficiency operations, EMT intends to remain the partner operators call first.

Our promise for the next twenty years is the same as the first: build equipment worthy of the pressure it carries, and earn the trust placed in it — one project at a time.
