Working Principle of Corrosion Coupons

Corrosion coupons are used to monitor the corrosion rate of samples (specimens) in pipelines or containers. Specifically, by observing the annual corrosion rate of the exposed coupon, relevant information about the expected lifespan of the material can be provided.

Product Composition

Connection Method: The corrosion coupon connection method selected this time is flange installation.
The connection system consists of three basic components:
(1) Body and base
(2) Insert body
(3) Protective cover (A105)

Regarding the base, the dimensions of the pipeline connection part are ANSI 2″RF, and the main body material is typically carbon steel.

Moving on to the internal components, the corrosion coupon system consists of a solid plug, a coupon holder, and the test specimen.

Regarding the coupon and holder itself, both fixed-length and adjustable-length holders are available. Additionally, the types of coupons include strip coupons and round coupons, and custom drilling is optional.

Dimensions: 3″ x 3/4″ x 1/16″ (76.2mm x 19.0mm x 3.2mm), with 2 mounting holes.
This time, the MS1018 material is selected.

Corrosion Coupon Holder:

The corrosion coupon holder is a device used to suspend the test specimen. Our company offers 4 types of corrosion coupon holders.
